The First Workshop took place between 13th and 15th of March 2007 at Val d’Isere,
France. It addressed aspects relating to the management of knowledge and innovation
of IT and business services in global sourcing. This Workshop was partially sponsored
The Second Workshop that took place between 10th and 13th of March 2008 at Val d’Isere,
France focused on social, managerial and knowledge-related aspects of Global Sourcing.
Best papers from this Workshop were published in the Special Issue of Information
Technology and People.
The Third Workshop that took place between 22nd and 25th of March 2009 at Keystone,
Colorado discussed the impacts of global IS sourcing on engineering, technology and
innovation management. We served as guest editors for a Special Issue in IEEE Transactions
on Engineering Management that deals with this topic. This Special Issue will be
published in 2011.

The Fifth Workshop took place between 14th and 17th of March 2011 in Courchevel
1850, France focused on Global Sourcing with a specific interest in practices that
improve firm’s performance and those that affect communities and societies. Proceedings
from this Workshop were published in the book “New Studies in Global IT and Business
The Sixth Workshop took place between 12th and 15th of March 2012 in Courchevel 1850,
France. This workshop brought together viewpoints from the various disciplines,
including International Business, Strategy, Operations Management, Organizational
Behaviour and Information Systems. Proceedings from this Workshop are in the process
to be published in the book by Springer.
